Last updated 2 November 2026

This policy explains how Local Web Studio ("we", "us") uses personal data, in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Local Web Studio is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Contact us about anything to do with your data at localwebstudio.uk@gmail.com.

What we collect

  • Contact and enquiry details: your name, business name, email address and anything you include when you email us.
  • Customer and order details: what you've bought, the information you give us to build your website or profile, and our emails with you.
  • Payment details: payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email, the amount and the payment status, but never your full card number.
  • Business contact details: where we contact businesses about our services, we use business contact details that are publicly listed (for example, on a company's own listings).

Who we share it with

We only share data with the service providers we need to run our business:

  • Stripe, for card payments (see Stripe's own privacy policy).
  • Google, for email and, where you ask us to, your Google Business Profile.
  • Cloudflare, for website hosting.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use legally recognised safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or adequacy regulations. We may also share data if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don't lead to a sale: up to 12 months.
  • Customer and payment records: for as long as UK tax law requires (normally 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to).
  • If you opt out of our emails, we keep a note of your address so we don't contact you again.

Your customers' data

If we host your website, enquiries from your website's form or assistant are sent to you. For that data we act as your processor: we process it only to run your website, and we don't reuse it.

Cookies

This website doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies. If you click a payment link, Stripe's checkout page may use cookies needed to process your payment securely and prevent fraud.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to how we use it (including objecting to marketing at any time), and to data portability. To use any of these rights, email localwebstudio.uk@gmail.com. We'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
